Maybe it's a matter of time because I've been on the island for a while. On the other hand I have given the message to Athens that I am here. I am glad that my students come to Syros every weekend and see me. You support a kind of photography that is characterized by the search for the limits of photographic illusion the marginal transformation of the photographic world and the transcendence of reality. Do you think this is a photographic trend even timeless or can these qualities alone define artistic photography As much as it may surprise you I don't set limits that can be described with one photo.
I would say I can't speak until I see pictures. You would have e-commerce photo editing to show me photos and then I would tell you if they are within what I consider to be the artistic boundaries of photography. I don't label photos with trend or school titles. There are of course some more general problems in art that concern me. The more complex an artwork is and the more comprehensive the more transcendent I consider it. I emphasize this because we cannot speak of art without transcendence. It is the essence of it.
So I consider these elements to be essential components of a work of art. It's much more important to see if the artwork charms with external features so I just consider it easy so not lasting or if in an internal way and with a duration of tension it brings the viewer into contact with something transcendental. When we talk about art we are constantly talking about abstraction while we know very well what we are saying but we cannot make it clear in perfectly logical phrases. So how can we say that someone likes staged photography or someone doesn't and it can't be because there is an artist's personality in it.
