The new series is aimed at printing centers with a production volume of 1 to 10 million A4 pages per month and is the company's new proposal that combines the print quality and media range of offset or liquid toner systems with the productivity and economy of inkjet printing . The new press prints at speeds of up to 320 A4  (including coated paper from 90 to 350gsm) and is ideal for producing books, commercial prints and/or brochures. It is built on the varioPRINT i-series platform which the company presented to the public in 2015 and since then more than 250 installations have been carried out worldwide. As for the iQuarius printing technology used in this new version, it is a combination of three features: • An innovative drying system that combines air and heat with moisture to protect the paper.

This ensures perfect prints on a wide range of media, perfectly flat and ready for immediate finishing. • New, proprietary, water-based polymer inks that deliver vibrant, robust color on a wide variety of media. • 1200dpi printheads, which resulted from Canon's collaboration with Kyocera, combined with advanced nozzle uniformity control image manipulation service technology that uses an integrated scanner to automatically check and align individual nozzles during production. Direct nozzle control offers the ability to detect problems and automatically improve nozzles during printing, reducing interruptions and wasted sheets.
