If you are someone who likes to stay up to date with the latest news in the digital world, you need to know about the new features of WhatsApp and Facebook E-commerce. But before we tell you what these changes are, it is important to highlight that the social distancing measures caused by the Covid-19 pandemic were responsible for this upgrade. This is because, according to Facebook, given the current circumstances, approximately 85% of the world's population now makes purchases online.

According to a survey conducted and released by the Standard Intelligence Center (CIP) in partnership with OnYou, a company specializing in monitoring customer experience in Latin America, consumers are diversifying digital channels more actively to make purchases. This trend has led companies to better monitor the service provided on digital channels, and this has therefore put WhatsApp in the spotlight. The application has seen significant growth, not only in terms of service, but especially in sales, where there is interaction between the consumer and the seller.

In the study carried out by the company, of the 745 respondents, 99% of them made an online purchase in the last year. And of these, 79% mentioned that the frequency of this method increased, compared to pre-pandemic habits.

Facebook recently announced a new tool focused on creating online stores integrated with its different apps, with the aim of encouraging small businesses. “Facebook Shops”, as it is called, is available on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. Through it, store owners can create a catalog with their main products to display in a unified and personalized digital storefront, free of charge.

Shops aims to make shopping easier for both consumers and sellers, offering personalization features, messages Japan WhatsApp Number List and new insights to help companies measure results. In other words, simplifying these processes in a single place, also contributing to the search for new business and products.

Instagram Shops and Facebook Marketplace are already prominently displayed in the apps' bottom navigation tabs, however, you can now shop on WhatsApp too, along with other updates.

According to CEO Mark Zuckerberg, there are 3 new features aimed at e-commerce: Stores on WhatsApp and Marketplace, Store Ads and Instagram Visual Search.

More than 1 billion people use Marketplace every month, which makes it essential for businesses to take their stores to this business model and reach even more people. It’s worth noting that whenever customers view a store on WhatsApp, they have the option to interact with the business before making a purchase. While WhatsApp has more than 2 billion global users, only about 175 million people message WhatsApp Business accounts daily for customer support. And since Facebook has been promoting e-commerce on platforms like Instagram, it makes sense that this initiative would expand
