End of the Fuvest tests, right? I felt a lot of people tired yesterday, perhaps due to the normal stress that the “terrible” entrance exam causes... But now it's time to relax and wait (for those who don't have any more tests ahead of them) or recover in time to take the other tests, such as that of Unicamp, this Sunday.
Yesterday I participated in the UOL chat about the 2nd phase Special Data of Fuvest and managed to speak to some of the candidates who had taken the mathematics test. Many of them told me that they found the test very long (several couldn't even finish it!), difficult and with no room for resolution. As the test must present all the candidates' calculations, it is difficult to show everything in such a small space. But, according to the coordinator of Folha de São Paulo's Caderno Fovest, Alessandra Balles, who was answering the candidates' questions, the reduced space on the answer sheet means that students feel discouraged from "messing around" when answering. .

One question I had was regarding the abstention rate. I find it difficult to understand why students who passed the first phase stopped participating in the second. Some candidates guessed that the answer would be the fact that many are trainers. But, in any case, it still didn't justify it, since of the 37,334 approved for the second phase, only 5,992 were trainers. Balles replied to me that many of the candidates who did not pay the registration fee do not feel “obligated” to take the test and others who pass the cutoff point feel unprepared and give up before even trying.
