[BUG报告] Lot of ignorance for photography

Furthermore it amazes and saddens me that highly regarded professional photographers instead of enjoying and boasting about their professional skills and achievements they attempt to elicit with their behavior the acceptance of an artistic community that has different goals and criteria. And deep down little appreciation. In Kyklos we try to turn our backs on the apelike behavior of the stock market of visual arts. In oversized prints in limited numbering and reproduction and at exorbitant sales prices which anyway internationally concern very few photographers and even fewer Greeks.  For some maybe even incomprehensible. Our attempt is not to recommend a School of aesthetic propositions nor to claim individually or collectively a domestic or international establishment.

On the contrary we need to resist such temptations in order to enjoy photographic e-commerce photo editing creation more both at the stage of its production and at the equally valuable stage of criticism and reflection around it. And ultimately it should never be clear what kind of photography is being done in the Circle. It is enough to understand which one we do not want to happen. The photograph does not represent a naked body but the specific body that is in front of the photographer. After all this difference is responsible for the fact that we are all more suspicious and wary when asked to stand naked in front of the camera than to allow someone to take a picture of us. In the first case the imaged person is ourselves in the second case we simply lent our body for a representation. Painters practice depicting the naked body. They thus study proportions texture and colors. Photographers don't need to study the details. But they have more difficulty grasping the whole through the details.



Photography helps photographers to study more deeply the function of photography and its relation to the reality of the subject. Precisely because the nude as a subject bears the heavy heritage of painting and at the same time the equally heavy presence of the voyeuristic dimension of the photographic lens the absolutely clear relationship of the photographer with the subject is required. In a few words in photography it is by definition and preamble consequent that a model poses in front of a group of photographers for the sake of study as happens in fine arts schools.
