Internet Explorer has been considered THE internet browser par excellence. It must be said that it was produced by Microsoft which equipped… a large number of computers in the world. However, at the beginning, this future great navigator had not yet deployed his sails. No one could say whether he would go far or not. And Microsoft itself considered it at first only as an extension. A small program certainly useful, but which perhaps did not deserve that we bet too much on it, in particular by dedicating a personalized logo to it.
Thus in 1995, Explorer very, very strongly resembles that image manipulation service of Microsoft (which also recalls in its name that it is indeed present, we are then talking about Microsoft Internet Explorer). Not too much color, not too much investment… Microsoft first wants to see if it will work. And the company will see it! Internet Explorer 1995 logo When the E stands out as a reference letter As early as 1996, barely a year after its launch, we see the first versions of the famous E-shaped blue logo appear. It is initially discreet, almost anecdotal, relegated to the end of the tool's name.

Internet Explorer 1996 logo It finally took on much more momentum in 1997, when its potential was finally recognized at its fair value. It is no longer necessary to indicate that Microsoft is its father, the geeks already know it and the others don't care. The version that is then adopted for the logo will change little over time. We find there this E for Explorer, and this inclined circle which surrounds it, goes around it and begins it. The message is clear: with Internet Explorer, you will travel and explore further than you ever imagined.
